Monday Update: All About the Readers

It’s been a busy week, and I’ve got the posts to prove it.

First off is an introduction to a business workshop for fiction writers.

The Pre-Professional Fiction Writers Workshop — Week 1 Readings

Of course, we can’t escape a week without a few insights from Kris and Dean. This week, Kris talked about Readers and how it really is all about them when it comes to our writing, and I also re-encountered her post on Discipline, which I’m going to have to add to my daily pre-writing workout alongside Oswald Chambers and Steven Pressfield if I’m going to ever get anything done.

On Dean’s site, he talks a little bit about his concern and confusion over decisions that this new generation of indie authors are making:

A Number Of Things I Am Confused About

In addition, he links to a Verso Advertising survey that examines the book-buying habits of the American public last year. Easy to digest and well-worth your time.  Finally, Dean also has a post up yesterday where he talks about the ins and outs of using Pen Names, which is a subject I’ve been curious about for a while.

Then there’s the continued blogging efforts of l.e.yar:

your hips, ma’am; they do not lie

so, ballet is cool.

Okay, that’s all from me for this week. I’m sure I’ll scrounge up plenty more before next Monday, though. Don’t worry.
